I’ll admit it, I’ve never had a bikini wax. Historically, my reason for never trying it out has been an irrational fear of odor. I am very attentive to feminine hygiene, but I couldn’t help worrying about natural aroma, and if mine would somehow be offensive to the waxer. Now that that’s taken care of, I still haven’t visited a bikini waxer. I’ve had to face the reality that I’m a great big baby. I get my eyebrows waxed and that’s just painful enough, thank you very much! I’m a depilatory cream kind of girl. Or I was a depilatory cream kind of girl. A recent mishap has me thinking that it is time to reconsider waxing.

I’m sure you are wondering who manages to have a depilatory cream mishap. Me, that’s who! Here’s the story: After smearing on the hair remover, I decided to kill time by reading a magazine. For whatever reason, I decided to sit down and, without thinking, I crossed my legs. After my 5-7 (but really 10) minutes were up, I showered off to find that my leg-crossing smeared things a bit too much and I was left with just a tiny, randomly place tuft. The sad thing is that this isn’t the first time I’ve had this exact mishap.

A friend suggested that I try out some pubic stencils as I wait for this terrible hairstyle to grow out. So, apparently someone makes a product for THAT, too. I think the real long-term solution is to find a new grooming method.
