Would you find it alarming to know that 70% of American women have reported experiencing sexual health issues? According to this article from MedicinePlus, a recent survey delivered that staggering result. Some of the participants reported everything from vaginal dryness to pain during intercourse. It also states that less than 18% saw an actual health-care provider when experiencing these issues.
My question is: Why? Why do women avoid taking care of themselves in this way? What is missing in American society today that keeps women from getting the advice or help they need to increase their sexual health?
When Bob Dole was afflicted with erectile dysfunction (ED), he did a TV commercial about it. When a woman can’t have an orgasm or experiences a drop in her sex drive, she eats her body weight in junk food and retreats from the world.
Well, guess what? It’s time for this to stop. I’m making a sweet appeal to you and all my girlfriends in the U.S.A., to make a commitment to rally for the sexual health of all women. Whether it’s celebrating your monthly cycle, or finding solutions to the issues you may be experiencing, let’s go ahead and zero that percentage. Who’s with me?
