As an advocate for intimate grooming rituals and refined personal hygiene, it’s only natural that I weigh in on certain beauty trends — don’t you think?

Though I find all of them fascinating, and some of them fabulous, others perplex me — like the one I’m blogging about today.

This trend I’m referring to is anal bleaching. This cosmetic treatment popularized by the pornography industry, is increasingly showing up in mainstream salons across the world. There are even at-home kits for D.I.Yers!

Now you, like I, may wonder why someone would opt to do this. Apparently, the craze for anal bleaching is spurred on by the desire to give your posterior region a younger, more even-toned and vibrant look. It’s beautification for your bottom.

Though some swear by it, I’m not so sure. After reviewing some of the ingredients — like hydroquinone, which is a chemical used in photography and is considered by some experts to be a cancer-causing agent — I think this is something that holds more risk than benefit. Search this topic and you will discover an abundance of opinions for and against it, but my vote is the latter.
