Cuddling? Party On!

I’m the first to admit that I’ve done a lot of interesting personal workshops, team-building exercises, and guru/retreat hopping in my day, but this is something that’s giving me slight pause. It seems like a very genuine movement, created by two relationship coaches, with the intent of promoting the healing benefits of human touch through the facilitation of adult cuddle parties.

Now, these aren’t free-for-alls. They have rules and each party has a Cuddle Lifeguard — who is present to ensure that there’s no running amok. These parties are non-sexual, drug and alcohol free ways for adults to explore a level of intimacy with one another on a level that seems very child-like and communal to me. After reading their FAQs, I was impressed at how much thought, caring, and planning went into the creation of this concept.

Does this mean I’m ready to jump in to find one in my area? Possibly — though I presently engage in a lot of cuddling with my daughter. But, I am the type that likes to dive into things like this to see first hand what it’s all about, so I’m definitely thinking about it. What about you: Are you ready to cuddle up?
