Three Septembers ago, a young man dedicated his birthday to a personal mission. Instead of giving him a birthday gift, he asked each of his party guests to donate $20 toward his effort to ensure every person on our planet would have clean water to drink.

This month, as founder Scott Harrison celebrated his 33rd birthday, charitywater.org celebrated it’s third birthday, by providing a village in Haiti with clean drinking water. To date, the organization has raised over 10 million dollars, and continues to fulfill Scott’s ultimate birthday wish.

Scott’s inspiring work stands as an invitation to all of us. It reminds us to cherish what we have, with every sip, and gives us the opportunity to make a difference in our world community.

On the home front, Macy’s has launched “Come Together“, with a goal of providing 10 million meals to American families in need, through Feeding America.
