Hey Jude. I mean Hamlet.

Jude as Hamletby Harlow Essex

The delicious Jude Law travels to Broadway as Hamlet along with the rest of London’s Donmar Theatre cast. After finishing up in London on August 22, the cast along with Jude, (we’re on a first name basis) will spend 12 weeks in New York opening October 6 at Broadhurst Theatre. Michael Grandage, the theatre director of the Donmar in London said, “We feel very privileged to be part of such a vibrant theatre community and it is exciting to think that so many people will get to engage with our work and to witness Jude Law’s extraordinary performance.”

Critics have joined in as well, unsurprisingly, praising Jude’s work as Hamlet. “Law, a rakish leading man of film, doesn’t disappear on stage the way some screen stars do. Though small-boned and delicately featured, he fills the theatre to saturation point.” -New York Times

Needless to say, I don’t think Broadway will have trouble selling tickets to see Jude Law as Hamlet, or Jude Law as anything. Get them tickets!
