What do you all think about the “cougar craze?”

Personally I don’t think it’s anything new (hello, Diane Keaton & Keanu Reeves in Something’s Gotta Give…or Demi & Ashton off-screen of course).

And the real-life older-woman-younger-man couples I know seem so so happy, perhaps because they are in love so powerfully that they got married despite the social stigmas and practical concerns.

There is a trend now more than ever, though, of dating websites exclusively for younger men seeking older women, and television series and movies for viewers fascinated by the idea of woman as protector.

Do the men yearn for mother figures? Sociologists wonder.  Do the women “rob the cradles” in order to snatch up men before they realize their other options?

Or, is it perfectly healthy and modern for an older woman to search for something in a man other than protection and wisdom?  Is it ok if the woman is in some ways more experienced, if she somehow steers the wheel of the relationship?

I say, of course!!!
