Because Oprah is not doing a “Favorite Things” episode this year.
If that is not a testament to the poor economy, I don’t know what is. I think you probably have all seen the SCREAMING fans of episodes past which have been REMOVED from YouTube, likely because they were ridiculous and embarrassing.
For those who didn’t catch the mini-internet-phenomenon while it lasted, it was crazy how excited people in the audience got when they were told the episode they’d come to watch would be a “Favorite Things” episode, and that they could walk home with anything from a book to an ipod to a car.
Seems Oprah is slowly down-scaling to zero until 2011 when her show will no longer air. You know what they say, better to start your own cable network than to fade away
