Winter Skin Care

keeping warm By Holly

While the beauty of snow-covered landscapes can be breathtaking to behold, winter weather often leaves us longing for our warmer weather glow.

Freezing winds and indoor heating can make your skin feel literally dried to the bone.

That’s why it’s important to drink as much water now as you do in the spring and summer months, to ensure you stay hydrated from the inside out. A great way to do this is to make every other drink you have in a day an 8 oz. glass of water.

Another tip for winter skin care is to keep using sunscreen. It’s a myth that the sun is less potent during the winter months, when daylight is more scarce. Your daily sunscreen ensures additional protection against wind and other drying agents.

Skin care experts also suggest moisturizing more often, being sure to avoid products that contain ingredients that coat skin and create a barrier to moisture absorption. To read more winter skin care tips, visit this article at WebMD.

If you feel like some extra pampering and personalized care, visiting a Dermalogica-certified skin care professional is a fabulous option. They now feature free skin mapping — a process that defines twelve zones on your face and determines the best way to care for each.

Wonderful news for the blustery season isn’t it? Though the weather outside may be frightful, your skin can still be delightful!

Thanks for your tips on winter skin care. Not many people know that dry chapped skin can be more of a problem in the winter than in the summer months. Sunscreen is another factor that needs to be taken seriously in the winter. Especially if you are in a climate that has snow. The sun reflects off of the snow and can really burn winter skin.
