Modern maternity is about to get a lot more fashionable.

This Friday, February 12, Heidi Klum is launching two maternity clothing lines at Pea in the Pod and Motherhood Maternity. As pregnant women everywhere rejoice, I wanted to give a special shout out to Heidi herself.

Though I don’t know her personally, I find her very inspiring. Not only is she gorgeous, but she’s also a very hard-working business mogul, loving mother, and wife. She seems to get such joy out of life. As I watched her give a sneak peak of her clothing lines to JuJu Chang on Good Morning America this morning, I found myself smiling — a lot.

Take these maternity lines she’s launching — you can tell that she’s thought them through, thoroughly. I remember being pregnant and feeling frustrated with odd fits and strange prints — so much so that sometimes I would just stay around the house in my nightgown. Heidi has taken all of that into consideration, and even addressed the issue that you often have to wear your maternity clothing for a few months post-birth.

This type of functional fashion definitely gets big props in my book. It also gives me a great Valentine’s gift idea for my one of my dearest friends — who is in her first trimester. Thanks Heidi!
