The Happiest Place on Earth

Most of us have never heard of Disneyland’s Club 33. Recession? How do you explain how this extremely expensive and exclusive membership managed to accrue a 14 year long waiting list?

I had the opportunity to go have dinner at Club 33 but was not able to make it. Since then I’ve always wondered did I miss a lifetime opportunity. I found this website on YouTube, and now we can all take a peek.

So exclusive is Club 33 that it isn’t even mentioned on the Disney web site and although there is a stop at the Club’s lobby on a behind-the-scenes tour, only Club members may dine there or even purchase Club 33 souvenirs.

The members-only five-star restaurant was built by Walt Disney so that he could entertain guests and dignitaries that visited the park. It is located behind a nondescript green door marked “33” in the New Orleans Square.

The membership comes at a high price. The cost for this exclusive membership is an initiation fee of $27,500 for Corporations with another $6,100 in annual fees. For individuals the cost is $10,540, and a $3,275 annual fee. In addition to dining at the 5 Star restaurant members also get daily admission to the park on days they eat at the club and up to six “fast passes” which allow them to return to a ride at a proscribed time and walk to the front of the line.

Before you run out to buy your membership I think you should know, and I’m not kidding when I tell you a children’s menu offers a you a three course meal for about $59.00, not including tax. The main course includes a choice of chicken fingers or a cheeseburger.
