At the end of this first week in the Chinese New Year, I’d like to ask: How’s it going for you?
Last year, the Ox cautioned us to be frugal — something that we had no trouble doing, given the economics of it all.
This year, however, I think we can all look too some great “signs” that we’re in for quite the ride.
Take our incredible athletes at the Olympics. How can you not feel as though the bar has been set very high for this year?
According to Chinese astrology, this is an indication of what happens in the Year of the Tiger. It’s a year of intense opportunity, triumph, and change. This year the call is loud and clear for each of us to examine, revisit, re-enforce, and prepare to push our individual talents to the forefront.
Unfortunately for some, particularly Monkeys like me, the Tiger and I have a hurtful relationship. The Tiger is poised to run me ragged and bat me around if I’m not careful. But, to me, this just means I’ll need to be more focused, grounded, and ready for whatever comes my way. Oh, and I’ll also have to keep an eye on my health, which is something we all need to be doing more of anyway (hello gym I haven’t been to for 2 weeks!).
I know, I know, to some this may just be folklore and place-mat decor. But, I’ve always found comfort and inspiration in the messages that claim center stage in my consciousness.
What about you: Are you curious what this Year of the Tiger may have in store for you?
