Dealing with Hair Loss

Has it ever happened to you: Brushing or combing your hair, and you notice there seems to be a lot coming out? Or, maybe you notice more than usual on your towel or bed sheets? Would it shock you to know that approximately 30 million of your “sisters across” the U.S. are experiencing hair loss too?

Hormones, genetic pre-disposition, iron and other nutrient deficiency — all of these can be contributing factors to hair loss in women, according to WebMD. And, as with many other conditions that affect both men and women, the causes in women (in most cases) are different than in men.

So, what’s a girl to do? For me, the first step is always to reach out. The Women’s Hair Loss Project is a great place to start. This community caters specifically to all areas of women’s hair loss and offers treatment suggestions, reviews, and resources to assist members with every stage of hair loss.

For a more immediate fix, until you find out what is causing your hair loss and discover the treatment option that works best for you, why not explore some of the hair loss products that can give you the cosmetic confidence you may need to release some of the anxiety associated with hair loss? They’ve come a long way since the days of shoe polish and soot, and may end up being the only solution you need.
