We’ve all heard the phrase “you are what you eat”, but did you know you can also feel what you eat too?
It’s been widely reported that eating chocolate with high cocoa content can ease the symptoms of PMS (have you tried Art Coco’s PMS bars yet? If not, they’re delish!), and a good dose of Omega 3 fatty acids can turn your frown upside down.
It only makes sense, then, that some of the other foods we eat determine our moods and, consequently, how we feel.
For instance, diets rich in fruits, vegetables, and legumes have been shown to relieve depression, while foods high in processed white sugar have a negative affect.
Feeling angry? Take a break with a few slices of turkey or handful of sunflower seeds. Need extra pep in your step in the middle of the day? Forgo the caffeine for a chopped apple, a couple of tablespoons of peanut butter, and whole wheat crackers.
If you, like me, are finding this information something you can really sink your teeth into (LOL), then you must check out the Mind Guide to Food and Mood. They have a lot of interesting information and resources to help you redesign your personal menu, and keep you on the sunny side of life. It’s worth a try, don’t you think?
