Ever since I was a little girl, I’ve watched the Oscars. I love the glitz, the glamour, and (thanks to my Grandmother) the gossip!
As in the past, this year’s award winners aren’t an exception when it comes to bits of scandal. Whether it’s the upset some feel over the message behind the message of “The Blind Side”, or that both Bea Arthur and Farrah Fawcett were left out of the memorial highlights — which totally ticked me off — the gossip is flying all over the Internet.
Stand outs for me would be the buzz around: Read More »
With all the famous cheaters in the headlines these days you have to wonder what percentage of men cheat. They are famous and they got caught, how many don’t you think are out there that did not?
Now, I don’t want to upset anyone nor do I want to be the bearer of bad news so I will let Dr. Oz , tell you in his own words. Though I will tell you he say’s more than 50% of men in relationships cheat, or that some experts believe monogamy may not be part of a man’s nature.
I had to watch the show to see what possible scientific explanation Dr. Oz could come up with that would excuse the fact that men cheat. I have to be honest with you I wasn’t really satisfied with the outcome.
Cosmo, thinks they have uncovered the reasons guys do the crazy things they do, that actually make more sense.
Why do men cheat? I could come up with at least one reason. The H…word. How about anyone else out there? I bet you could come up with a few good reasons of your own.
So my recent guiltiest pleasure is Bravo’s Millionaire Matchmaker. Now, before you go judging me, I must attribute my fascination to Patti Stanger and her infectious personality. The basic premise of the show is to find love. More specifically, Patti arranges dates for millionaire’s. Women try out and hope to be chosen for a mixer where at, they meet two millionaire’s and try to shmooz them. What intrigues me the most I think isn’t whether or not the millionaire’s find love, but Patti’s advice on relationships.
Most of the men over thirty are interested in young twenty somethings. Patti calls these men, “age-ists”. Last night I heard her guest speak on Love-Line with Dr. Drew. A caller asked why he cannot commit to women that are successful. Read More »
Is it me, or does it seem as though marital fidelity is becoming an endangered species?
Trust me, I know that extra-marital affairs have been around since the invention of the marriage contract, but I’m just amazed at how many people get married, and then step out on them these days.
The first time I saw the title of this book I thought “Because it feels good and it’s fun!”
But then more thoughts invaded my mind and I had to delve deeper. All I can say is: Thank the powers that be for this work of co-authors (and Ph.D.’s), Cindy M. Meston and David M. Buss!
Cindy is the director of The Sexual Psychophysiology Laboratory at the University of Texas at Austin, where they have devoted their research to approaching sexuality from all possible angles. Their website lists findings from studies on everything from nicotine and sexual desire to the effects of hormones on monogamy. David is the Head of IDEP Program at the same university and has his own lab devoted to studies in evolutionary psychology.
Though both their research is obviously heady and clinical, the book is a fascinating and easy read. It contains vital insight into the sexual drive of women and I find myself picking it up and re-reading sections again and again.
Ladies, this is one of those “must have” books for your personal wellness, and one I hope you add to your collection soon.
